What breaks my heart is the abusive treatment of children.
In order to make a global difference, however, we have to start local.
Our children are our mirrors.
They reflect back to us who we are and what is working and not working in society. Our children possess qualities that are needed to raise the consciousness of our planet and as such many adults are misunderstanding them. We need to wake up to how they are trying to teach us to nurture imagination, creativity, curiosity, communication and joyfulness in ourselves and in them. We need to learn how to expand our love to meet the unconditional love that is the natural essence of every child.
We need to stop pathologising our children. We need to put down our mobile phones, shut our computers, turn off the television and look into our children’s eyes as we speak. Look into their eyes as we listen. Look into their eyes and really, really see them. We need to look, listen, observe and discover who this child really is.
